Fresno, CA – High Performance Academy (HPA) and Fresno State are proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership to host Youth Sports Camps at Valley Children’s Stadium and other iconic Fresno State athletic facilities this winter. This initiative not only creates unforgettable opportunities for young athletes but also strengthens Fresno State’s connection with the community by inspiring future Bulldogs and fostering talent.
Taking place January 6–10, 2025, the first multi-sport camps will welcome 600 young campers for a week packed with energy, skill-building, and unforgettable moments. Presented in partnership with Bulldog Bound and Fresno Unified School District, these camps aim to provide an enriching experience for students across the region.
“At Fresno State, we believe in the power of sports to transform lives and build brighter futures,” said Garrett Klassy, Director of Athletics at Fresno State. “We’re dedicated to providing youth in our community and county with opportunities to grow and learn through sport, and this partnership with High Performance Academy and Fresno Unified School District reflects that commitment. Hosting these camps at our facilities, especially Valley Children’s Stadium—an iconic, multi-purpose venue—demonstrates our commitment to using our spaces to foster growth, inspire leadership, and strengthen community connections. Together, we’re not just teaching skills—we’re building leaders, fostering confidence, and creating a pipeline of future Bulldogs who are ready to make an impact.”
Open to all skill levels, the program features sports such as Flag Football, Soccer, and STEM activities, creating an environment where kids can learn, grow, and thrive. Every camper will experience the thrill of mentorship from HPA’s team, made up of current and former collegiate athletes, many of whom proudly represent Fresno State. With a focus on skill-building, teamwork, and leadership, campers will leave not just as better athletes but as more confident individuals ready to take on their next challenges.
To fuel their success, campers will receive breakfast, lunch, and healthy snacks daily, thanks to a partnership with Pardini’s. Additionally, each participant will take home exclusive HPA and Fresno State swag to remember their legendary week.
One of the camp’s highlights is a special “Signing Day” experience, where each camper will feel the excitement of being celebrated like a collegiate athlete. This event is designed to inspire campers to dream big, setting their sights on one day becoming Bulldogs themselves.
“Sports camps played a pivotal role in my youth, shaping who I am today and showing me firsthand the transformational impact high-quality camps can have,” said Jesus Garcia, CEO of High Performance Academy. “These camps provide so much more than just athletic training—they foster friendships, teach essential skills, build leadership and confidence, and instill the values and responsibilities of being a student-athlete. Camps are where curiosity is sparked, and inspiration takes root. I still remember attending Fresno State Men’s Soccer Camps and Fresno Fuego Camps as a young boy, feeling inspired by the experience and dreaming of one day representing the Valley. Those moments left a lasting impression on me, and now I am incredibly proud to help create those same life-changing experiences for thousands of kids.”
“I am deeply grateful for the partnership with Fresno State and extend my thanks to President Saul Jimenez-Sandoval, Garrett Klassy, and the entire Fresno State team for their efforts in bringing this impactful collaboration to life, benefiting thousands of youth in the Central Valley. I also want to recognize and sincerely appreciate partners like Fresno Unified School District for their trust and continued investment in their students, ensuring they have the best opportunities to thrive.”
These camps are FREE of charge for Fresno Unified students, ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all. Parents can register their children by visiting https://www.inplay.org/providers/high-performance-academy/. Spots are limited.
“We are thrilled to partner with Fresno State University to offer students in the Valley a unique opportunity to experience the exceptional benefits of both sports and higher education. As a former Bulldog, I’ve seen firsthand the impact that Fresno State can have, not just on athletic development, but on shaping the leaders of tomorrow,” said Valentina Vivas, HPA’s Coordinator of Camps. “Through this collaboration, we aim to expose children to what Fresno State has to offer, helping them realize that college and sports are within their reach. At HPA, we are committed to creating pathways for students to grow not only in their athletic skills, but in character, resilience, and leadership. This partnership is about building dreams, providing inspiration, and showing kids that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.”
HPA extends their gratitude to California State University Fresno, Fresno State Athletics, Pardini’s, and Fresno Unified School District for making this Winter Camp collaboration possible. Together, they’re shaping a future where sports, education, and inspiration unite.
